The film has opened to a Stunning Response at the Box-office in Traditional Tamil Markets dominating `Thoongavanam`. `Vedalam` is Tamil Cinema`s Biggest Opening EVER in Tamilnadu now as well as Malaysia (Weekend). It is nothing but outstanding considering the film isn`t by any Star Director or doesn`t have meaty role to its star Heroine. It is solely riding on Ajith Kumar`s Stardom, Diwali Season and Sister Sentiment, that Vedalam has turned out to be such a Big Success at the Boxoffice. Clean and Big Hits are rare in recent past for Ajith after `Billa`. This film has proved that he still has in it to compete with the best.
