Review : Race Gurram

Race Gurram, one of the much awaited films this Summer is here. Surender Reddy, one of the most Technically Superior Directors in Tollywood Right now teamed up with Bunny for this Stylish Entertainer. Did this Promising combo lived up to the billing?, Read on.

Story :

Ram ( Shyam ) & Lucky ( Bunny ) are brothers who are into cat fights right from Childhood. Shiva Reddy ( Ravi Kishan ),a Rowdy turned Cunning Politician kills a Cop for trying to bring his misdeeds to justice. On the other hand, Ram is trying to catch him with strong evidence and Lucky is busy with his love interest Spandana ( Shruti ). On one final Day Ram gets the much needed evidence but Unexpectedly Lucky enters the Scene and now Shiva Reddy Gang is after him!. How Lucky deals with them and brings Shiva Reddy to book forms the rest.

Performances:

Bunny delivered one of his Best performances in this film. His Comedy Timing with `Deyyyvudaa` is simply superb. He has almost pulled of the entire 1st half on his own with his Dialogues. Ravi Kishnan, as a Cunning Politician did a fine job. Shyam & Shruti Are fine and adequate. Prakash Raj has different character in this film and he pulled it off with ease. Posani, JP, Thanikella & etc have done their bit. Lastly Brahmi as `Kill Bill Pandey` is a special Climax attraction and is a major asset. Ali & Shayazi have a cameo roles.

Technical Departments

Music: Thaman did a fine job. `Cinema Choopista` & `Sweety` Songs are good on screen. His BGM is adequate but could have been a bit better,

Cinematography: By Manoj, Good.

Editing: Even at 160 odd minutes run time, it doesn`t feels like it thanks to the Entertainment Quotient.

Stunts: Only one Major Fight sequence in the film in Interval, Handed well.

Story,Screenplay & Direction :

Story is an Entertaining Drama with Decent Action & Emotion. It starts off on an entertaining note and hits sort of a Mini-Climax in Interval. The 1st Half is largely Entertaining with Comedy and 2 Good Songs. The film Naturally gets some what slowed down initially in 2nd half and picks up well towards Climax with a Pretty Good ending. The Last 20 Minutes of the film is Very Good with Brahmi taking over. What you expect from the flick is all there - Be it Comedy, Romance or Action. But Bunny Should have tried some more Good Dance moves for his Fans. On the whole, Surender Reddy Handled the film well.

Box-office Verdict

The film is your typical Entertainer. It is easily one of Bunny`s Best Performances in recent times. Race Gurram has the potential to do well at the Boxoffice. May well become Bunny`s best.
