Review : Surya vs Surya

Surya vs Surya is a Romantic Comedy/Drama of an Young Guy who can`t come under `Sun` due to a rare inherited disorder(Porphyria).

Story :

Surya (Nikhil) is a Rich and Normal next-door guy except for the fact that He`s allergic to Sun-rays and so can`t step outside in Day light. As a Dialogue in the film explains it, "A Vampire who won`t suck Blood". He goes to a Night college and makes a few friends. Also he falls in love with a TV Journo/Anchor ( Tridha ) and meets her one fine-day which blossoms into a serious relationship. And now Surya is scared to explain her, his situation. How it all ends happily is the rest.

Performances:

Nikhil managed a very good and matured performance and brought life to the character. He is good as an innocent Lover as well. Tridha is okay and apt. Thanikella Bharani & Sathya are good too. Madhubala, Subhashini, Ramesh, Rajesh and Shayazi shinde etc are adequate and fine.

Technical Departments:

Music: Satya Mahaveer`s Music is okay and songs are well shot and situational. Background score is pretty good and is a Plus.

Direction : Okay.

Cinematography: Adequate.

Editing: Okay.

Analysis :

The story is a bit experimental and rather interesting one. The narration is a bit slow and classy. 1st half is largely good in the film, revealing the plot and building the Romantic angle. The 2nd half is average due to limitations in subject, wafer thin story-line and could have been better dealt with. Performances and Music have helped the film to be a Decent Watch in the end. Surya vs Surya is a Good attempt and can be watched for its Fresh Subject. Just that it is Slow paced nature will leave General audience with mixed feelings.

Box-office Verdict

The film`s content & narration appeals to Urban audiences and especially Multiplexes, where its prospects look bright. Whether it will be enough or not is remains to be seen.
