ABO Mini Review : Chandrakala

Chandrakala is a Typical, Decent and Full Length Horror Entertainer.

Story :

A big Joint Family goes to their village to sell their Big Palace. Until they finish the deal, they all decide to stay in the house which is haunted ( they don`t know it initially ) by a Ghost `Chandrakala`, who is waiting for Revenge. Their Horror experiences in the house and Chandrakala`s actual story forms the rest.

Analysis : The film is a Full Length Horror Entertainer. Barring for the 20 odd minutes flash back episode, it is a complete Horror film right from the word go. Sundar has managed to keep the audience hooked till the end with this Screen-play. Although it is ages old narration with plenty of clichés, it manages to hold the interest with Thrills. 1st half of the film is especially better and Climax is handled well too. Production Values and VFX quality could have been better.

Performances : Andrea played the Major role and more or less delivered the goods. Hansika plays the important title role and is adequate as an innocent Village belly. Sundar is pretty average. Raai Laxmi adds the Glam quotient. Santhanam is strictly average and Kota is apt.

Songs & Sound Track : Songs are so-so and are speed breakers. Sound Track is adequate and more or less apt.

Direction : Okay.

Cinematography : Average.

Overall Movie Rating : 3 / 5 ( May try it if Horror is interesting enough Genre for you )

BoxOffice Verdict : Should have a Decent BO in Smaller Centres.
