Detailed Movie Review : Suseenthiran's Aadhalal Kaadhal Seiveer

Suseenthiran is known for his small yet different and critically acclaimed movies like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Naan Mahaan Alla & Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai. However he came out of his comfort zone and burnt his hands with last, Vikram`s Rajapattai - a big and utter disappointment. Now he is back into his fiefdom of different movies and this time he came up with a bold attempt called Aadhalal Kaadhal Seiveer. Did he stood up to expectations of Movie lovers & Critics who loved hims before ?. Lets see..

Story:

Engineering college students and their immature relationships, love, romance, sex and further consequences, Family, friends, neighbours & point of view and Handling all the problems. The justification of a very god title is done in climax with a 5 mins song.

Performances:

New Hero santosh is just okay but Vazhakku Enn 18/9 fame Manisha rocked this time too with superb performance. Arjun of Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi provided the comic relief and supporting actors Jaya Prakash and Thulasi as heroine`s parents have rocked it. Kudos to them.

Music and BGM:

Yuvan is one of the biggest strengths for this movie. His BGM is good and also are the songs. The climax song sung by him and its picturization is heart touching.

Technical Details:

Cinematography is very good for Small budget film. Crisp Editing without a single useless scene and length being 1hr 45mins helps all Thanks to this Editing department.

Story, screenplay and Direction:

AKS was inspired from a real life incident, its a good idea on the part of Sudeenthiran that he recognised the intensity and made message oriented film. Although the story is routine, the way He shot the film and the emotions characters shows in veru good. First half starts with comedy, love and end with establishing problematic point. Second half shows the consequences and climax deliversthe message with title justification. Second half is a bit slow and emotions are quite cinematic. Even through there are some other issues with the film they are justified with genre of the film.

Plus:

Message oriented theme, Music, Editing, Performances, Neat narration (Clean `U`) & Climax song.

Minus:

Slow second half, Dramatic narration in second half & Not establishing a solution for the problem discussed.

Overall Verdict : 3.25 / 5

A Bold and message oriented romantic drama which is recommended for Parents and current youth. However this is a Urban based Multiplex movie and may not go well with B and C center audience.

P.S.:

Will sure bag some awards this year.. All those suseenthiran fans here is the good news - Suseenthiran is back and go and watch AKS immediately.
