The film is set in the temple town of Dharmasthali where all sorts of illegal activities are ON. It is actually a renowned place of Devotion and Acharya (Chiranjeevi) lands and decides to amend things. How he is linked to Dharmasthali forms the rest.

`Acharya` is a poorly executed Action Drama with almost nothing working in its favor other than production values to an extent. The film has failed to establish a connect to its world in the beginning and it is a bore-fest from here to the major duration. Few portions of Ram Charan and an episode or two give a little breather but the overall impact is way off.
