ABO Review : 'Saakshyam'

`Saaksyam` is an Average Fantasy Action Drama

Story :

Entire family of Viswa (B Sai Sreenivas) gets massacred during his childhood (baby boy) and he eventually gets adapted by a well settled NRI Family. Viswa falls for Soundarya, a traditional girl (Pooja) and approaches her for his Desi Video Game Project. But The Mother Nature got other plans for them to make all the ones behind the massacre, pay for what happened to Viswa`s Biological Family.

Performances:

BSS tries to pull off his role with a good ease and this stands out as the better performance of his career so far. Pooja Hegde gets a meaty and important role and yet is pretty ordinary. Jagapathi Babu is at his menacing best and his poetic lines make him stand-out. Ravi Kishan, Asutosh Rana, Kabir and the gang of Villains lived up-to expectations and enacted their roles intensely well. Rao Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Posani and other supporting cast are adequate. Sarath Kumar and Meena appear in cameo roles.

Technical Departments:

Music: Decent, Shivam Shivam is superb.

Action : Major Plus.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Adequate.

Analysis :

Saakshyam is your typical Commercial Action Drama but garnished lavishly with fantasy/mythological elements. The film features heavy dosage of action which saves the film in the end although it is overtly cruel at times. Saakshyam benefits a lot from its Rich Production values and a Script filled with Fantasy Elements. If only the regular Romance & Drama in the lead upto the action episodes was as interesting, it could have been a pretty good film. Director Sriwass delivers a film with a great script which is letdown by his ordinary narration and ill timed songs. Nevertheless, Saakshyam is a Decent watch for the fans of Commercial Pot-boilers and might work with masses.

Box-office Verdict :

The film needs 25 Cr from Telugu Theatricals to be a Hit and it is likely to end as a Average Earner if it can win over the masses.
