ABO Review : 'Winner'

`Winner` is a Passable Commercial Entertainer.

Story :

Kid Siddarth (SDT) frustrated by the growing distance between him and his `once a very close and friendly` father runs away from home. He eventually settles in Hyderabad and falls for Sitara (Rakulpreet), one fine night. She has her own issues with family and Siddarth`s unintentional blabbering makes things more difficult for her. Sitara is all set to get married off to her father`s choice but there lies a twist in the tale. How far will Siddarth go to win Sitara and his own family back forms the rest.

Performances:

Sai Dharam Tej gave an Energetic Performance and is good with his Dances and Comedy. Jaggu Bhai is Good too. Rakul did a decent job overall and looks Fab. Anoop Singh, Mukesh Rushi & Prudhvi did well. Vennela Kishore is Very good. Raghubabu, Ali and others are ordinary.

Technical Departments:

Music: Thaman`s Catchy Tunes are okay and songs are even better on-screen. Back ground score is more than Adequate.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Adequate.

Stunts: Over the top at times, Okay.

Analysis :

`Winner` is a commercial entertainer which intends to be a little different with its Horse Racing Backdrop but somehow ends as yet another template based one. The Execution here should have been more convincing. Comedy parts work for the film in 1st half which is better of the two. Well Known Casting, Good Technical and Rich Production Values save the film and helps it to hold the attention of the viewers till the end. It probably is more appealing to masses. Overall, it is worth a try to pass some time and that`s all about it.

1. Routine at times.

2. Unconvincing Romance.

The content Being average to okay, this can go either way and is too close to call. Good initial opening trends on a Festive day.
