ABO Review : 'Ghazi'

`Ghazi` is a Gripping Naval War Thriller.

Story :

The film is a dramatized version of 1971 Naval Submarine war between India`s S-21 and Pakistan`s Ghazi. It depicts the courage and patriotism shown by both sides and how eventually Indian S-21 destroyed PNS Ghazi.

Performances:

Rana Daggubati excelled as a performer in the 2nd half and is good. Atul Kulakarni & Kay Kay Menon are the other mainstays here and are very good. Rahul Singh, Taapsee, Satyadev, Om Puri, Nazar, Ravi Varma and etc., as supporting cast are more than adequate.

Technical Departments:

Music: Composer K`s Soundtrack is brilliant and sets the tone for the flick.

Cinematography: By Madhie. Good.

Editing: Well Done.

Visuals: Although minor flaws exist then and there it is fab VFX Job considering the low budget.

Analysis :

Ghazi Demands your whole attention for the 2 hours full. The film take its own time to establish characters and basics concerning the Submarine and inherent working principles, protocols etc.,. Once We get acquainted ourselves with the basics it is a very pleasant experience with plenty of thrills and drama. It is like watching a game of chess between two grand masters. All the twists and turns and the patriotic content makes it a compelling and gripping thriller. There are no songs in this film, not even situational ones. It is a 2 hour long honest attempt reflecting on our 1971 glory under sea of `Bay of Bengal`. Well done Sankalp Reddy and Team.

2. Patriotic Content.

3. Convincing Presentation.

4. Casting.

Minus:

1. Dubbing.

2. Not Everybody`s cup of tea.

Rating: 3.5 / 5

Box-office Verdict :

The film is receiving Rave reports from the early-bird viewers most of whom are from Media and close circles. Considering it is a 3 Language release and costs are manageable, this should be a success even with a good 10 days run.
