ABO Review : 'Dhruva'

`Dhruva` is a `Worth-a-Watch`, Thrilling Action/Crime Saga.

Story :

Dhruva (Ram Charan), a highly ambitious IPS Trainee forms his own group at the Academy to nab Criminals. In the process of going through different cases they have dealt with, Dhruva finds out that Siddarth Abhimanyu (Arvind Swamy) is Organizing a lot of Fraudulent Activities in the City through his cronies. The Rest is all about Dhruva`s Thrilling duel with Siddarth Abhimanyu.

Performances:

Ram Charan`s Hardwork and Dedication to the Character is there for us to see on the Big Screen. With an Above-Par Performance and Tough Looks he has outshone Jayam Ravi in this `Thani Oruvan` Remake. Arvind Swamy is simply Outstanding and steals the show as the Stylish Antagonist. He has been a Class yet Powerful act. Rakul Preet is fine Providing the Supporting Act and Glam Quotient. Navdeep and the Gang of Friends, Posani, Nazar, Farah and etc.,. are more than adequate.

Technical Departments:

Music: Hiphop Tamizha `s tunes are Okay. Badly Timed `Pareshunara` is a Visual Treat in all counts. Background score is a Big Plus and adds a lot of weight to the happenings. Title Song has been shot well and `Neethone Dance` Disappoints on Screen.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Fine.

Action: Stylish and Adequate.

Analysis :

`Dhruva` is not your Typical Big Budget Telugu Commercial Film. This Surender Reddy Flick is a Thrilling and Stylish Action/Crime Drama which gave a lot of importance to Characters and Story. It is a Largely Convincing Ride with Good 2nd Half Making it Worth-a-Watch. On the flip side, 1st half could have been more crisp and shorter although it is still Okay. Ram Charan & Arvind Swamy`s Cat & Mouse Duel makes it an Interesting watch. Dhruva tries to touch all angles of commercial cinema but is limited by staying true to its Main Plot and the Tamil Original which is appreciable. This May not appeal in equal measure to all sections, but is Worth a watch for what it is.

Highlights:

1. Dhruva Finding out about the `Bug` and after.

2. Climax.

Plus:

1. Racy & Thrilling.

2. Performances.

3. Background Score.

Minus:

1. Lengthy 1st Half.

2. Limited Connect to Telugu Masses.

Rating: 3.25 / 5 (Worth a Watch!)

Box-office Verdict :

The film is receiving Positive reports from the Audience but is not as positive in B & C Centers. Considering the Content & WoM, it is likely to be a Minimum Guarantee Earner and Final Range Depends on the core base of Ram Charan - Masses.
