Virodhi deals with the -ve side of Naxalism, an experimental flick which needs to be viewed with an open mind.
Story : Srikanth, a Good Journalist was taken Hostage by a Naxal Group in murdering an MP. Ajay is the leader of the Group and Kamal Kamaraju is an important member. How Srikanth survives forms the rest of the movie.
Screenplay : Basically a screenplay based movie, Okay.
Music & BGM : Only a couple of songs are in the movie and they were situational too, BGM is fine.
Performances : Srikanth did well despite the limitations of his role and Ajay has equal footage in the film and is exceptional as the Naxal Leader.
Visuals : Okay
Direction : Handled a risky subject almost perfectly.
Good :
1. Performances of the main Cast.
2. Action episodes of 2nd half
Bad :
1. Slow narration in 1st half.
2. Limited appeal of the Subject.
Overall Movie Rating : 3 / 5 ( Must Watch For Serious Cinegoers )
Boxoffice Verdict :
Virodhi is made on a low Budget and was released mostly on their own by Meka Media. The Producer Anil Meka should be appreciated for coming out with such a Novel Film. But it was hard to predict the BO fate. Good Publicity is the key here.
