ABO Review : 'Oka Manasu'

`Oka Manasu` is a long drawn, emotional romantic drama which works only in parts.

Story :

The romantic tale of an aspiring Politician Surya and Jr. Doctor Sandhya. How their love struggles to survive with Surya landing in a mess which can possibly end his career dreams. What choices do Sandhya makes?, Who will Surya pick forms the rest.

Performances:

Naga shaurya gave his best and did a Fabulous Job. Niharika obviously steals the show and does full justice to the strong author backed role. Rao Ramesh is adequate and is pretty apt for the role. Pragathi, Nagineedu and other supporting cast are also good.

Technical Departments:

Music: The songs, although too many, are decent. BGM is a Major highlight!.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Should have been better.

Analysis :

`Oka Manasu` is a poetic, emotional and mostly realistic romantic tale. The film has a few things working in its favor but has a lot of issues, most importantly pace and unlimited montage song/shots. It gets highly repetitive after a certain point leaving audiences dejected. 2nd half is comparatively better with the last half an hour being emotionally engaging and heart-touching. The chemistry between the lead pair is al-right and performances are fine but the long drawn road to arrive at the inevitable climax is a let down. A better edit would have made this a more interesting watch. Nevertheless you may still try this if you are for some clean, strong and poetic romance and have the patience to experience it.
