ABO Review : 'Kalavathir'

`Kalavathi` is a Decent, watchable Horror Comedy.

Story :

Murali (Siddarth) from a Zamindar family is engaged to Anita (Trisha). They come back to their native village with the Zamindar slipping into coma. It eventually gets clear that there are some evil forces and Anita’s brother Ravi (Sundar C) lands to solve the puzzle. Who is Kalavathi? forms the rest.

Performances:

Hansika steals the show. Siddarth did an equally good job. Trisha & Sundar C are al-right and adequate. Soori and Kovai Sarala are hilarious.

Technical Departments:

Music: Could have been better. BGM is okay.

Cinematography: Adequate.

Editing: Good.

VFX: Average.

Analysis :

`Kalavathi` is a Decent Horror Comedy which has its share of flaws but ultimately ends up giving fair dosage of thrills and laughs which matters the most for the paying public. The 1st half has been an underwhelming affair but the 2nd one makes up for it with Hilarious comedy and Thrills. The story is obviously routine but the suspense element keeps it going despite logical loopholes. The film has some good episodes which work in its favor although it is predictable at times. On the whole it is a `leave your brains at home` kind of Watchable, Mass Horror comedy.
