ABO Review : 'Rudhramadevi 3D'

Note : Review of the 3D Telugu Version.

`Rudhrama Devi` is an Average Historical Drama.

Story :

Set in the 13th Century India, the film tracks the Real Life Warrior Queen, Rudhrama Devi`s (Anushka) Sacrifice and Efforts towards Establishing a Strong United Kakatiya Empire and her ascendancy to throne with the help of Gona Ganna Reddy (Allu Arjun) and Veera Bhadrudu (Rana Daggubati).

Performances:

Anushka has managed to play both her shades well and dealt with a wide range of emotions. She is especially good as a budding Successor. Allu Arjun stands out with his limited but very important role and is the biggest takeaway from the film. Rana Daggubati is Adequate. Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Suman, Aditya, Nithya Menen, Catherine, Vikramjeet, Hamsa Nandini and Ajay are fine. Rest of the Cast are adequate.

Technical Departments:

VFX/CGI : Comparisons are bound to arise with the recent Baahubali. A Pretty Much Decent Work considering the Budget.

Music: Ilayaraja`s tunes are strictly average and Background Score could have been better. Most of the songs have acted as Speed breakers.

Cinematography: Good.

Editing: Adequate.

Action/Stunts: Fairly Decent but over the top at times.

3D : This is a film you should watch in 3D since its made that way from the beginning. Several episodes will have an enhanced experience and feel in 3D especially the `Lion vs Elephant` one.

Analysis :

The 1st half of `Rudhrama Devi` is Average and 2nd half falls short of Liberal General expectations. The Narration here should have been better in 2nd half and a few more strong episodes for the Central Character of `Rudhrama Devi` would have made this a better one. `Gona Ganna Reddy` has managed to save the film to a large extent from ending as a poor one. His Histrionics and dialogues in Telangana Slang will be enjoyed by one and all. Music is disappointing with Background score failing to inspire emotions at key moments. For it`s Historical content and Gona Ganna Reddy`s Portrayal you might try this preferably in 3D.

Box-office Verdict :

The film is more likely to end as a commercial failure with a couple more Biggies, immediately Up-next. Tax Free status might help minimize losses for Buyers, Wherever Applicable.
